Financial Aid Procedures
.......................
If your financial aid completely covers or exceeds your fees, you must login to TigerWeb. This will confirm your enrollment and commit your aid to avoid cancellation of your schedule. If your financial aid does not completely cover or is not available to pay your fees, you must satisfy the balance by the published deadlines. Financial Aid deferments will not be available for incomplete or unapproved aid. If you are in question as to whether your financial aid has been committed, call the Bursar's office at 656-5592.

Failure to commit financial aid, including Fellowships and scholarships, will result in cancellation of schedule!

New federal regulations have changed the way federal financial aid can be used to satisfy University charges. Federal financial aid can be used for only current charges. You must pay in full any charges for prior years before federal aid can be released, even if you have financial aid exceeding your charges and will be issued a refund. This is a federal regulation, not a Clemson University policy.

Charges other than tuition and fees (such as housing damages, library fines, traffic fines, Redfern fees, etc.) are sometimes added to the University bill after the semester begins. Please note that you may be billed for these services after you have received a refund check. The satisfaction of currently posted charges and/or the issuance of a refund does not indicate that no additional charges are pending.

Miscellaneous Financial Aid Information
.......................
Financial aid affected by changes in enrollment status will be adjusted after August 26 for fall. Notification of award changes will be forwarded to affected students. Indebtedness created by a reduction in aid must be resolved in G-08 Sikes Hall.

If you participate in the Federal Work-Study Program, contact the office to which you have been assigned. You must provide proof of citizenship (social security card or official birth certificate and driver's license) and a voided check for a bank account in your name. If you have not received an assignment by the beginning of classes, contact the Student Financial Aid office, G-01 Sikes Hall, the week of August 25.

No financial aid is disbursed during Maymester. Loan applications for summer sessions are due March 1. Pell Grant awards for first summer session will be available to eligible students who have not used their entire 2007-2008 entitlement. Information is available from the Student Financial Aid Office.

Financial Aid Credit Balance
.......................
If you have a credit balance of more than $50 due to excess financial aid and you are a full-time student, your refund by direct deposit will be available May 20 (Maymester/SSI), July 2 (SSII), and August 20 (fall). If you do not have direct deposit, refund checks will be mailed to your home address on the same dates. You are encouraged to sign up for direct deposit on TigerWeb at least two weeks before the beginning of a term. Stafford Loan checks and Perkins promissory notes must be signed to avoid cancellation of loans.

Credit balances due to overpayment will be processed in the same manner after the last day to register.

Balances less than $50 will be deposited into your TigerStripe account approximately two weeks after the first day of class.
