FINE
ARTS
Bachelor of
Fine Arts
The Bachelor of Fine
Arts degree is the recognized professional undergraduate degree in the
visual arts. The program in Fine Arts prepares students interested in
a balanced curriculum of academic course-work and studio art and art history
courses for careers in studio-related areas of the visual arts.
Students begin to
concentrate their studio course-work in a specific area of the visual
artsceramics, drawing, painting, photography, printmaking, or sculpturein
the junior year in preparation for the senior studio experience. The program
is structured so that the concentrated studio experiences in the junior
year allow students opportunities to explore and develop concepts and
skills that lead to a cohesive body of artwork in the senior year and
a portfolio for professional application or graduate study.
