SPECIAL EDUCATIONBachelor of ArtsThe Bachelor of Arts degree in Special Education prepares students to teach individuals with mild disabilities in grades K12. The curriculum is designed to meet the competencies outlined by the Council for Exceptional Children for beginning special education teachers. Students completing the program receive instruction and practical experiences that lead to Generic Special Education Certification in South Carolina.

1Two years of the same foreign language are required. 2Three science courses (12 semester hours) composed of both biological and physical sciences are required. PH SC 108 and 107 and BIOL 109 are recommended.
